We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead our global Endpoint Engineering team. The team manages corporate device administration for more than 80,000 computers, virtual desktops, and mobile devices, as well as the endpoints that power our retail locations. In this role you will define and execute the strategy for the platforms behind Wayfair's modern, secure, and seamless digital workplace, leading the evolution of endpoint management through automation, standardization, and engineering excellence while partnering closely with Security, Identity, IT Services and Support, and Retail Operations to deliver capabilities that improve productivity, strengthen resilience, and support the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled tools. This position includes approximately 10% travel to partner with on‑site staff, leadership, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of endpoint engineers, setting clear goals, building career paths, and fostering a culture of ownership, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and governance for Wayfair’s computing platforms: iOS, Windows, Android, and Azure VDI.
  • Support and drive the strategy, roadmap, and governance for Wayfair’s computers, desktops and laptops, conference room gear, and warehouse and retail devices, including smartphones, tablets, POS, and handheld scanners.
  • Drive the modernization of End User Computing by advancing automation, zero‑touch deployment, self‑service capabilities, and platform scalability.
  • Establish engineering standards, operating practices, KPIs, and SLAs that improve platform reliability, service quality, and team effectiveness.
  • Oversee application packaging, deployment, patching, and lifecycle management, including third‑party software update cadences and testing frameworks, with scalable processes for onboarding new software and AI‑enabled tools.
  • Partner with Information Security to maintain secure‑by‑design endpoint architectures, compliance standards, and device governance controls aligned with Zero Trust principles.
  • Build trusted partnerships with Tech Support, retail and warehouse Operations, and corporate teams to deliver retail technology solutions that are reliable, secure, and scalable, including periodic store visits (~10% travel) to evaluate technology in the field.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex or systemic endpoint issues, ensuring they are monitored, reported on, and remediated at scale using tools such as Intune, Jamf, Google, and SureMDM.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, budget, and lifecycle planning for endpoint technologies, and evaluate emerging tools that improve productivity and the employee experience.
  • Ensure workflows, infrastructure, and support playbooks are documented so practices are consistent across all locations.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in End User Computing, Endpoint Engineering, or a related discipline, including 3+ years leading technical engineering teams.
  • Track record managing large‑scale endpoint environments (10,000+ devices), with exposure to both corporate and retail IT systems.
  • Deep expertise with enterprise endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune/SCCM, Jamf, Google, and SureMDM.
  • Hands‑on experience with point‑of‑sale (POS) platforms and supporting retail infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security, compliance, device governance, and Zero Trust principles, and familiarity with secure payment systems and in‑store endpoint reliability.
  • Experience building engineering operating models that emphasize automation, standardization, and continuous improvement, with working knowledge of PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting and APIs.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, licensing, and budgets.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional leadership skills, with the ability to adapt your style for retail associates, IT staff, engineers, and executives.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamic, global business environment.
  • Willingness to travel (~10%) to locations within the US and Canada.
