Senior Manager, eCommerce
Job Summary
The Ecommerce Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, optimization, and strategic growth of the brand’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) storefront. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Ecommerce and Growth Marketing, this role will serve as the primary owner of the website experience, driving revenue through conversion rate optimization (CRO), subscription growth, and seamless promotional execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Execution: Partner with the Senior Director to translate marketing goals into actionable website strategies, focusing on site experience, product merchandising, and revenue growth.
Promotional Management: Lead the setup and execution of on-site promotions. This includes configuring discount logic, building promotional landing pages, and ensuring all site banners and messaging align with the marketing calendar.
Subscription/Auto-Replenish Management: Own the end-to-end subscription experience. This includes managing the auto-replenishment logic, optimizing the "Subscribe & Save" UX on product pages, and collaborating with the retention team to improve subscriber portal functionality and reduce churn.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) & Testing: Lead the testing roadmap in partnership with our agency. Oversee the execution of A/B and multivariate tests (landing pages, checkout flows, product descriptions) to improve site conversion rates and Average Order Value (AOV).
Loyalty & Retention Collaboration: Partner with Loyalty to ensure the program is a prominent part of the site experience. You will oversee the placement of loyalty call-outs and redemption tools at key decision points—like product pages and checkout—to ensure benefits are easy to find and use.
Content & Merchandising: Manage the site’s product catalog. This includes launching new products, managing collections, and optimizing site structure, navigation and the integration of social proof to ensure a premium customer journey.
Post-Purchase & Operational Oversight: Manage the technical side of the post-purchase journey, including transactional email accuracy, returns portal functionality, and management of the Shop app.
Search & Discoverability Oversight (SEO/AEO/GEO): Collaborate with search specialists to ensure the site is technically optimized for traditional search and modern AI-driven answer engines. Oversee the implementation of their recommendations, ensuring metadata and schema updates align with site performance and brand standards.
Operational Excellence: Monitor daily site performance, troubleshooting technical bugs or checkout friction points immediately. Ensure the site is mobile-optimized and maintains high loading speeds.
Sales & Inventory forecasting: Responsible for supporting forecasting for both saleable and non-saleable inventory and helping to project revenue for net new programming.
Performance Analytics: Analyze site traffic, user behavior, and sales data to provide regular reporting on KPIs. Use these insights to recommend data-driven improvements to the user interface (UI), user experience (UX), promotional and merchandising strategy.
Agency & Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external development, design, and subscription platform agencies. Manage project timelines, QA all deliverables, and ensure technical tickets are prioritized effectively.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 8-12 years of hands-on ecommerce management experience, preferably within premium skincare, beauty, or health and wellness.
Platform Expertise: Preferred proficiency with enterprise ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus) and subscription tools (e.g., Recharge).
Technical Literacy: A high-level understanding of SEO/AEO principles and web best practices to effectively manage technical specialists and agencies.
Collaboration: A proven track record of working effectively in a matrixed environment, specifically partnering with the Loyalty Manager, Creative, and Operations teams.
Project Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and high-stakes promotional launches simultaneously.
