Senior Manager, ECAD Library Leader (Remote)
What You Will Do
- ECAD Library Management
- Develop, maintain, and manage centralized ECAD libraries, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Collins-specific design requirements.
- Oversee the creation, validation, and release of electronic component symbols, footprints, and 3D models.
- Standardization and Best Practices
- Drive standardization of library components and processes across all business units, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Establish and enforce best practices for ECAD library management, maintenance, and usage.
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Implement automation and advanced tools to improve library creation, validation, and maintenance processes.
- Identify areas for process optimization and lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of ECAD library management.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all library components meet applicable regulatory, industry, and RTX-specific design standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation for ECAD library component processes, and updates to support traceability and usability.
- Training and Support
- Develop and deliver training materials to engineers and designers on ECAD library usage and updates.
- Act as a point of contact for resolving ECAD library-related issues and provide on-demand support to engineering teams.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and report on ECAD library usage, accuracy, and process improvements.
- Use metrics to measure the success of library initiatives and identify opportunities for further enhancement.
- Lead, Develop and Grow Talent
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of Librarians.
- Guide the professional development of team members. Provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvements.
- Foster a collaborative culture that promotes teamwork and innovation.
- Encourage career growth and job satisfaction across heritage business units.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in ECAD library management, electronic design, or related fields within aerospace, defense, or similar industries.
- Proficiency in ECAD tools such as Mentor Graphics (Xpedition), Cadence, Altium, or similar.
- Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB design principles, heritage Rockwell Collins, and industry standards (e.g., IPC standards).
- Experience with library management software and PLM systems.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with automation tools for library management and component creation.
- Experience with integration of ECAD libraries into simulation and analysis workflows.
- Knowledge of aerospace and defense electronic design standards and requirements.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
