About the role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Operations to own day-to-day execution of a defined area within the Allen digital print workflow. You will supervise production staff and shift leads, manage the daily schedule, and enforce quality standards on the line, working within the standards and programs established by the Director, Digital Production. The ideal candidate combines hands-on production leadership with the discipline to maintain a demanding daily schedule and develop a strong front-line team.
Responsibilities
- Run day-to-day production: Execute the daily digital production schedule for your area, ensuring print-ready files move through the workflow to finished, inspected product on time.
- Supervise the floor: Directly manage production staff and shift leads—assign work, monitor throughput, and resolve line issues as they arise.
- Hold quality on the line: Enforce existing QC standards and inspection checkpoints, flagging recurring defect patterns to the Director for process changes.
- Coach and evaluate your team: Provide day-to-day direction and training, conduct performance evaluations, and contribute to pay, hiring, and development decisions.
- Keep the schedule realistic: Track capacity and throughput against the daily/weekly plan, escalating risks (staffing gaps, machine downtime, material shortages) before they impact delivery.
- Own your shift's numbers: Report volume, yield, and defect rates, adjusting work assignments or process steps to hit targets.
- Keep equipment running: Monitor machine uptime, log issues, and coordinate with Maintenance for routine repairs and scheduled service.
- Translate priorities for the team: Communicate direction from the Director and cross-functional partners (Pre-Press, Quality, Supply Chain) into clear daily work objectives.
- Follow and improve standard work: Operate within established SOPs and recommend refinements when processes aren’t working—without owning the SOPs themselves.
- Support onboarding and cross-training: Help ramp new hires and cross-train staff across stations to flex with shifting product line volumes.
Requirements
- 5+ years in print production, manufacturing, or digital print operations, including 2+ years leading teams.
- Hands-on experience with digital printing, prepress, or color management in a high-volume production environment.
- Proven ability to maintain a daily production schedule while hitting throughput and quality targets.
- Strong front-line leadership: supervising, training, and holding a team accountable on the production floor.
- Comfort collaborating with Pre-Press, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve day-to-day issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trading cards, collectibles, or other high-mix, short-run production.
- Familiarity with on-card printing, foil, and premium finishing processes.
- Experience supervising multiple shifts in a fast-paced production environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP and production scheduling systems.
Location
This role is based in Allen, TX, and requires onsite presence five days per week.
