Senior Manager, Data Center Business Operations
Eaton’s Electrical Distributed IT division is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Center Business Operations to join our team in Woodridge, IL. This is a hybrid role (3x2) with anticipated up to 50% travel. Relocation assistance is available within the US.
About the Role
Plan, direct, and execute capital projects related to footprint rationalizations, capacity expansions, manufacturing methods/processes, and facilities using comprehensive knowledge of existing capabilities and new technology. Examine project, program, or business needs to develop projects and build business cases. Run program reviews at the leadership level, highlighting overall program health and key risks. Ensure close collaboration with local operations teams to assure project success.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective and clear communications with internal and external stakeholders, delivering tough or critical messages transparently with a go-forward plan.
- Manage and maintain program/project metrics throughout the duration of projects.
- Develop and maintain resource plans to meet project schedules.
- Leverage global resources and prior project contacts to develop optimal solutions and assemble strong project business cases.
- Execute large and complex projects using Eaton’s PROLaunch processes.
- Build organizational competency by mentoring and training key individuals.
- Evaluate alternate manufacturing processes (e.g., additive manufacturing, Metal Infused Manufacturing, plating) focusing on cost reduction, material optimization, and supply chain resiliency.
- Assemble and lead cross-functional teams with engagement from all required functions/organizations.
- Drive accountability from required action owners.
- Develop equipment technical specifications and perform supplier/contractor evaluations as part of the selection process.
- Manage contractor/supplier work on-site at Eaton facilities, ensuring adherence to Eaton’s Contractor Safety Program.
- Manage project teams' capital and expense spending within approved budget amounts, providing monthly spending projection updates and hitting forecasted targets.
- Assist in developing various project scenarios for comparison and evaluation, including footprint expansion and facility consolidations.
- Share best practices on project management and lessons learned based on implementation experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Program Management, or a combination of Program Management with Operations, OpEx, Manufacturing Engineering, or Facilities experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of work in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP) or equivalent.
- Familiarity with PROLaunch methodology.
- Familiarity with Eaton CAR process and definition of project business cases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project application.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to report status and deliver technical presentations to leadership and customers.
- Experience managing complex programs such as construction, production line moves, capacity expansions, and footprint rationalizations.
- Self-motivating with ethical and truthful conduct.
- Broad analytical skills and business acumen.
- Demonstrated expertise in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes, and tools.
- Strong team leadership skills, capable of leading change in an Integrated Team environment across multiple sites and customers globally.
- Experience in financial tracking, spend forecasting, and asset capitalization.
- Experience in Risk Management and Business Continuity.
Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role is $146,000 - $215,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus incentive program. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
