Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

Rush Street Interactive (NYSE: RSI) is a market leader in online casino and sports betting, currently operating real-money gaming with our brands: BetRivers.com, PlaySugarHouse.com, and RushBet.co. We’re building bridges between online, social and land-based gaming businesses to create amazing, integrated experiences that keep players in the game. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead the day-to-day operations of our corporate accounting function.
Responsibilities
Own the monthly close – drive timelines and deliver consolidated results across the Accounting and Finance function
Coach and develop – lead through real-time coaching, mentoring, and feedback, building leaders and driving accountability, not just completing tasks
Anchor technical accounting decisions - serve as the first line of authority on US GAAP questions across the corporate accounting function
Assess risk and strengthen controls – apply ongoing risk assessment to the Corporate Accounting function, strengthening the control environment as the business scales
Drive cross-functional alignment - anticipate dependencies across teams and resolve issues before they become blockers, picking up special projects as needed
Team Leadership and Development – Manage other Corporate Accounting leaders, who oversee day to day General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Treasury accounting
General Ledger Ownership – Own GL accounting across cash, prepaid and other assets, long-lived assets, investments, accounts payable, and accrued and long-term liabilities, including review of journal entries and reconciliations
Accounts Payable Oversight – Oversee the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, ensuring strong controls and accountability across vendor master maintenance, invoice approvals, payment execution, and GL recognition; partner cross-functionally on vendor sourcing, selection, and contracting
Treasury Support – Support cash management and oversight of manual cash payments, contribute to banking relationships, and lead short-term liquidity forecasting and working capital planning
Global Consolidation and Reporting – Partner with SEC Reporting to ensure the global consolidation is accurate, complete, and delivered ahead of each reporting deadline - including coordinating intercompany and multi-currency considerations and ensuring alignment between operating results and consolidated financial statements
Process Improvement and Automation – Identify and lead opportunities to automate and improve processes across the Corporate Accounting function, including the use of AI tools
Cross-Functional Partnership – Partner with Latin America Finance to ensure global alignment of accounting processes and policies, and collaborate with leaders across accounting, finance, and the broader organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or CPA required
- Demonstrated leadership ability, the kind that moves people and drives accountability
- Experience leading in structured, high-stakes environments is a meaningful differentiator
- Proficiency in US GAAP with the ability to independently evaluate and guide accounting conclusions across a broad range of corporate accounting areas
- Comfort leveraging AI and automation tools to improve close accuracy, reduce manual work, and scale team output
- Familiarity with multi-currency accounting and intercompany transactions across global entities
- Proven track record of managing and developing a team in an accounting or finance function
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to track multiple moving parts across teams and keep close processes on schedule
- Ability to exercise influence without direct authority - credible and effective across teams regardless of reporting lines
- Clear, direct communicator with the ability to set expectations, deliver feedback, and escalate appropriately
- Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience a plus
- Public company experience preferred
