Senior Manager, Content Marketing Nonprofits
About the role
GoFundMe is the world’s most powerful community for good, dedicated to helping people help each other. By uniting individuals and nonprofits in one place, GoFundMe makes it easy and safe for people to ask for help and support causes—for themselves and each other. The GoFundMe Pro team is searching for a Senior Manager, Content Marketing to lead our content team with a focus on our nonprofit audience. This person will shape our point of view and still find time to write some of our most-read pieces themselves.
Responsibilities
- Lead nonprofit content strategy across our Global Go To Market organization in collaboration with our Events and Comms teams.
- Develop and maintain a clear editorial POV: what we cover, how we cover it, what we never touch, and why.
- Keep a pulse on cultural and industry moments and move quickly to insert our voice into the conversations that matter, while steering clear of the ones that don't.
- Align content strategy with product launches, campaign priorities, and broader marketing goals.
- Own the content calendar end-to-end, balancing thought leadership that builds brand and authority with pieces that credibly connect to pipeline—and tracking performance to both.
- Write and edit some of our highest-visibility content yourself—flagship pieces, cornerstone articles, and anything where our point of view needs to land with authority.
- Set the editorial bar for the team when reviewing and elevating work across the team.
- Lead and grow a team of writers, providing structure, creative direction, and mentorship.
- Build the processes and infrastructure that allow a content team to move fast without sacrificing quality: briefing templates, editorial workflows, review cycles, and contributor relationships.
- Track content performance across the metrics that matter—organic traffic, engagement, pipeline influence, and audience growth—and use what you find to refine our content strategy.
- Know when a piece underperformed because of distribution and when it underperformed because of quality, and act accordingly.
- Bring a point of view to channel strategy: where we publish, how we repurpose, and where we're leaving reach on the table.
Requirements
- 10+ years of B2B content experience, with at least 3 years in a team leadership or senior editorial role.
- A portfolio that covers thought leadership, long-form, and pieces with a clear, distinctive voice.
- Proven experience building or significantly scaling a content function.
- Strong editorial instincts and the ability to give feedback that's direct, specific, and actionable.
- Comfort with performance analysis and a track record of using it to inform editorial decisions.
- Experience with SEO fundamentals, content distribution, and pipeline-connected content strategy in a SaaS environment.
