Senior Manager, Content Marketing
About the Role
At the center of the AI transformation in digital advertising is a belief that human storytelling builds trust in ways that automation cannot replicate. PubMatic is looking for someone who can take strategic insights and turn them into great content, across formats, across channels, on a sustainable basis, that moves the market and moves the business forward. This is a role for someone who is equal parts outstanding writer and strategist—someone who asks the right questions before hitting publish. You'll determine what story customers need to hear, why it matters to them, and where they should hear it, then craft it brilliantly, distribute it, and measure its impact.
Responsibilities
- Build and run PubMatic’s content engine: translate research insights and strategic direction into content that reaches and resonates with audiences, strengthens sales conversations, and builds market credibility.
- Own the full content cycle: planning, creating across formats, distributing, and measuring impact.
- Content Planning & Strategy: Work with the Senior Director of Corporate Marketing to define narrative direction, then build an operating model for content cadence, format reinforcement, and research coordination.
- Long-Form Content Creation: Partner with the Head of Research to transform insights into high-quality published content, including whitepapers, reports, thought leadership pieces, and industry guides. Write, edit, and shepherd content through publication, including executive bylines and opinion pieces.
- Short-Form Content & Distribution: Develop and execute a social media strategy to amplify long-form content and capture real-time market moments. Create a sustainable flow of blog posts, email content, and newsletter material. Repurpose long-form insights into social series, sales assets, and webinar material.
- Performance & Optimization: Establish measurement frameworks upfront to track engagement, reach, audience growth, and business impact. Use data to refine topics, formats, and channels. Partner with sales to identify content gaps and usage.
- Collaborate seamlessly across teams—research, product marketing, creative, sales, and growth marketing—to coordinate timing, hit deadlines, and ensure content lands effectively.
- Leverage AI tools to increase output velocity, accelerate research, and iterate on drafts while applying editorial judgment to maintain human voice and credibility.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in content marketing, content strategy, corporate communications, or related work in B2B tech, SaaS, or ad tech, with a track record of building high-impact content programs end-to-end.
- Demonstrated range as a strong writer: long-form research and reports, short-form social and email, executive voice, and web copy, with the ability to adapt voice and format without losing quality.
- Strategic thinking paired with execution: ability to identify the right story before deciding how to tell it, and the skills to produce and ship it.
- Experience developing content tied to business outcomes, such as driving customer engagement, enabling sales, or building thought leadership.
- Comfort with data and measurement: establish success metrics upfront, track performance, and pivot based on results.
- Strong project management: juggle multiple content workstreams, hit deadlines, and coordinate across teams (research, sales, product, creative) while maintaining quality.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools for research, drafting, and optimization, balanced with editorial judgment to preserve human nuance.
- Familiarity with programmatic advertising, ad tech, or the digital media ecosystem—or a genuine eagerness to develop deep fluency quickly.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration: work seamlessly with research, sales, product marketing, and creative teams without territoriality.
- A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating range across formats, strategic thinking, and execution.
- BA/BS in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or related discipline preferred, but demonstrated ability matters more than credentials.
