Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Construction-DS, leads the successful execution and delivery of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards. This role directs contractors and partners, manages compliance with design and regulatory requirements, and drives risk mitigation throughout project lifecycles. Collaborating cross-functionally, the position oversees project governance, vendor performance, and continuous process improvements to enhance constructability and efficiency. The Senior Manager also fosters team development and accountability while maintaining comprehensive documentation and reporting to support strategic business objectives and operational excellence within Walmart’s construction program.
What you'll do
- Lead construction projects ensuring completion on schedule, within scope, and budget while directing contractors and design partners.
- Review and approve construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage construction compliance by conducting routine reviews and enforcing adherence to Walmart and industry standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Store Development, Facilities, Procurement, and Operations to align project goals and report progress to leadership.
- Drive process improvements, document best practices, and mentor team members to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
What you'll bring
- Extensive experience in construction management, including project execution, budgeting, and contract oversight.
- Out of the ground/civil construction experience.
- Prominent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple contractors and vendors effectively.
- Strong expertise in risk management, quality control, and compliance with building codes and company standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to drive project momentum and resolve issues promptly.
- Proficiency in project management, including schedule development, financial management, and performance tracking.
- Able to collaborate cross-functionally and present clear, concise reports to stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization within construction delivery.

- The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and 3 years’ experience in construction management, construction administration, engineering, architecture, or a related area OR 5 years’ experience in construction management, construction administration, engineering, architecture, or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in compliance in construction and real estate management or related area.
- Experience managing large-scale retail, industrial, or multi-site construction program delivery, including new build or remodel environments, specifically as a project manager or superintendent for general contractors or owners.
- Experience using construction project management platforms (for example, Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Experience with procurement and contract management processes for construction services.
- Experience with sustainability, energy efficiency, and green building standards (for example, LEED or equivalent).
- Professional certification (OSHA10, OSHA30, PE, PMP, CCM, LEED AP, or equivalent).
