About the role

The Cleaning, Inspection & Repair (CIR) Manager ensures operational readiness of the CIR area in alignment with OEM, regulatory, and customer requirements. This includes the planning, control, and economical implementation of the cleaning line, NDT, and Inspection area in accordance with the company quality, environmental, health & safety policy.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and implementation of a new CIR capability for engine MRO
  • Define and establish cleaning, inspection, and repair processes, ensuring compliance with OEM and industry standards
  • Specify, procure, and oversee the installation of cleaning line equipment (e.g., chemical baths, ultrasonic, washing systems)
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient workflow and process integration
  • Define key performance metrics for CIR operations and establish continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions
  • Ensure all CIR processes comply with FAA & EASA and environmental regulations
  • Drive cost, quality, and turnaround time (TAT) improvements while maintaining high safety standards
  • Work with suppliers and equipment manufacturers to optimize chemical usage, waste management, and sustainability practices
  • Develop training programs for CIR technicians, ensuring proper certification and competency
  • Support customer audits, regulatory inspections, and internal compliance reviews
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to CIR personnel
  • Manage budgets, cost projections, and investment plans for the CIR shop
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in CIR operations, engine MRO, or aerospace manufacturing
  • Knowledge in chemical cleaning and mechanical cleaning techniques
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, EASA, OEM standards) and environmental compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, lean manufacturing, and process optimization
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OEM authorized MRO facilities (e.g., Pratt & Whitney, GE, Rolls Royce)
  • Experience in setting up new CIR capabilities and commissioning cleaning line equipment
  • Knowledge of automation and digital solutions for CIR processes
