Responsibilities

  • Strategically source and onboard a diverse portfolio of carriers, brokers, and logistics vendors.
  • Design and manage sophisticated routing and capacity plans to ensure seamless package flow across a growing network.
  • Drive vendor and carrier accountability through a Performance Management Framework, tracking KPIs including On-Time Performance (OTP).
  • Facilitate Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs/QBRs) with key vendors and carriers to discuss performance trends, address service failures, and align on future growth.
  • Proactively identify and resolve "at-risk" segments within the transportation strategy, performing root-cause analysis and implementing timely resolutions.
  • Oversee a rigorous vetting process to ensure all partners meet safety, security, and insurance requirements.
  • Build a comprehensive partner database for competitive bidding (RFPs) and ensure transportation options maintain high service reliability and performance standards.
  • Partner with Ground Ops, Finance, and Expansion teams to align vendor capabilities and carrier capacity with real-time customer needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in logistics, focusing on carrier procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Proven track record of developing comprehensive scorecards and managing underperforming partners through formal contract performance reviews.
  • Experience designing and implementing multi-complex transportation strategies that integrate various tiers of providers and service levels to optimize a national footprint.
  • Expertise in sourcing, vetting, and high-stakes rate negotiations across a diverse range of service models and logistics vendors.
  • Deep understanding of DOT regulations, safety ratings, and insurance requirements (Cargo, GL, Auto) for both carriers and brokers.
  • Advanced skills in Google Sheets/Excel to perform "Deep Dives" into network-level data, vendor spend, and service trends.
  • Leadership experience in leading and developing a team of specialists focused on network health.
