About the role
The Senior Manager, Capital Projects is responsible for managing large power plant projects or programs exceeding $250M. They oversee the delivery of these projects, ensuring cost and schedule objectives are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. They also manage risks and ensure proper project controls are in place.
Responsibilities
- Promotes safe behavior and adherence to safety rules. Leads the project team to establish safety indicators and requirements.
- Identifies technical skills needed for project success. Assigns appropriate personnel and mentors team members. Manages contracts and approvals.
- Develops and executes projects according to corporate standards. Ensures team members fulfill their roles. Navigates Entergy’s Stage Gate Process and coordinates project activities.
- Provides clear project status reports. Prepares reports and presentations. Coordinates with functional departments to meet project budget and timeline.
- Monitors contractor performance in areas like safety, schedule, cost, quality, and compliance. Coordinates with stakeholders and working groups.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of relevant experience in construction management, engineering, and/or power plant operations and maintenance. Experience with EPC contracts required.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of business processes and management.
