About the role
TEGNA Inc. (NYSE: TGNA) is a media company that provides trusted local news and services. The TEGNA Stream Center in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Manager, Broadcast Hub Operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the TEGNA Stream Center, including supervision of staff
- Ensure the on-air integrity of multiple network programming feeds and respond immediately to on-air issues
- Able to perform live on-air duties during event/operator coverage
- Able to deploy staff strategically for high-profile and live events
- Show strong customer service skills, collaborating with individual station General Managers to address concerns or issues
- Develop, evaluate, and implement technical and operational training initiatives
- Implement and/or evolve policies and procedures
- Provide timely, clear, and direct feedback to employees and administer staff performance evaluations
- Provide leadership, develop teamwork, focus on decision-making
- Establish and maintain effective training schedules
- Respond to changing priorities and adjust as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office 365 suite
- Knowledge and ability to use electronic equipment and computer hardware/software related to television broadcast operations
- Ability to troubleshoot, take immediate action, and resolve broadcast issues
- Strong customer service attributes and skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Unwavering composure in high-pressure situations
- Acute attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Experience working successfully as part of a team
- Willingness to work in Charlotte, North Carolina
- Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays
Desired
- 7+ years of experience in a master control or production control room television environment
- 5 years of managerial experience
- Proven passion for media, television, and technology
