About the role
Merrill Gardens at Campbell is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support residents in their beautiful community. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with seniors and committed to providing an atmosphere that values individualism and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, fire and sprinkler equipment, H.V.A.C., landscape, carpentry work, painting, and equipment repair.
- Ensure that walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained and repaired.
- Repair and maintain vacated rooms in a timely manner which includes painting walls and cleaning carpets.
- Responsible for all in-house plumbing, e.g. sinks, toilets and bathtubs.
- Responsible for minor electrical work within units and in common areas, e.g. light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals, etc.
- Responsible for painting of all apartments and common areas.
- Repair, clean and maintain all carpet, floor coverings and furniture.
- Document safety issues as well as physical plan deficiencies related to local, county, state and federal guidelines.
- Aid in preventative maintenance and cleaning of the community vehicles (buses and cars, vans).
- Assist with training and development of safety procedures and hazard communications.
- Respond to accidents and emergencies immediately and appropriately based on established protocol.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- (Must be at least 18 years of age).
- 1-3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care, heating and HVAC skills.
- Prefer knowledge of fire suppression & irrigation systems.
- Prefer motor vehicle maintenance ability.
- Flexible and capable of working evenings and weekends as necessary.

Pay
Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.
Schedule
