SENIOR LIVER TRANSPLANT SURGEON

About the role

The Montefiore Einstein Transplant Center is seeking a senior liver transplant surgeon to join their busy liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgery program. This position qualifies as an UNOS liver transplant surgical director.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex hepatobiliary surgeries, including liver transplants
• Collaborate with hepatologists and oncologists for comprehensive patient care
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and tumor boards
• Supervise and mentor junior surgeons and fellows
• Contribute to research and education initiatives
• Manage clinical and administrative aspects of the liver transplant program

Requirements

• Demonstrated technical expertise in liver transplant surgery
• At least five years post-Fellowship experience
• Leadership skills and ability to manage a high-volume transplant program
• Track record of academic achievement

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification in general surgery and/or transplant surgery
• UNOS Liver Transplant Certification
