Senior Litigation Associate

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex commercial litigation matters from inception through trial and resolution
  • Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, Daubert motions and complex discovery motions
  • Take and defend key fact and expert witness depositions
  • Develop and execute discovery strategy, including ESI protocols, privilege reviews and vendor management
  • Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment and commercial objectives
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, providing strategic advice and budget management
  • Appear independently at hearings, mediations, arbitrations and court proceedings
  • Lead trial preparation and courtroom advocacy where appropriate
  • Manage case budgets, staffing, timelines and overall matter execution
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across appellate, regulatory, investigations and white collar practices
  • Support business development initiatives, client relationship growth and practice expansion
  • Who You Are

    • 7+ years of complex commercial litigation experience
    • Experience gained at an Am Law 100 or Am Law 200 firm preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters
    • Extensive experience with motions practice and high-stakes depositions
    • Deep understanding of complex discovery and eDiscovery strategy
    • Strong knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence
    • Trial, arbitration or judicial clerkship experience preferred
    • Experience in real estate, construction, environmental, healthcare or intellectual property litigation is a plus
    • Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills
    • Proven leadership, mentoring and client management experience
    • Strong business judgement and commercial awareness
    • Admitted to the Washington Bar or eligible for prompt admission
    • Compensation

      • Salary: $310,000+ (DOE)
