Senior Line Shift Supervisor - Molding

About the role

As the Senior Line Shift Supervisor, you will lead manufacturing operations by overseeing and mentoring production teams, supporting other supervisors, and driving operational performance. This role involves staffing, resource allocation, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resources and priorities within the shift, making final decisions on staffing.
  • Promptly address any safety issues or incidents.
  • Develop and implement training plans for the assigned shift.
  • Conduct daily touchpoints with line associates to support the Equipment Owner (EO) program, covering Safety, Quality, AM defect tagging, 5S, CILTs, Center lining, TPM, breakdowns, and top losses.
  • Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
  • Ensure open communication between production associates and management, representing concerns from both sides.
  • Support timely resolution of line issues, demonstrating servant leadership and adhering to BD Values.
  • Proactively anticipate and address problems before they impact production.
  • Prepare and run Tier 1 production meetings, ensuring alignment with the Line Centric Organization (LCO) team.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices.
  • Work with associates to resolve employee relations issues, involving HR when needed.
  • Ensure daily Pit Stops are completed and update the Primary Visual Display (PVD) with targets, goals, and issues.
  • Focus line resources to support quality or line issues as they occur.
  • Spend 100% of time on the production floor, except for necessary meetings or performance-related conversations.
  • Ensure timely root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Communicate results and raise issues to the Line Leader.
  • Manage Kanban accurately, including work order setup and material reconciliation.
  • Ensure accuracy of quality checks and work order documentation.
  • Perform other duties as required to address business needs.

Requirements

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED.
  • Preferred: BA/BS Degree in Science, Industrial Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment.
  • 1 year of people leadership experience.

Schedule

6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, rotating 12-hour shifts (A shift).

Workplace Arrangement

This role requires a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to foster collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving. For certain roles, employment is contingent upon proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or availability/testing in some locations. Accommodation requests will be considered pursuant to applicable law.
