Senior Line Service Representative - General Aviation
About the role
The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates for the Senior Line Service Representative - General Aviation position at the County's General Aviation airports, Henderson Executive Airport and/or North Las Vegas Airport. This is a working lead role where the Senior Line Service Representative provides direct service while overseeing a team of line service staff.
Responsibilities
- Assists Line Service Supervisor with planning, assigning, overseeing, reviewing, and evaluating the work of line service staff on an assigned shift; may provide input into employee evaluations; may complete employee coaching, counseling, and administer discipline as required.
- Assists in developing and implementing goals, policies, procedures, and work recommendations and standards for the unit; provides input into the unit's budget along with equipment recommendations.
- Coordinates with vendors to schedule services.
- Inventories, orders, and maintains applicable stock of fuel, oxygen, lubricants, and other servicing materials and supplies; assists in specifying and developing contracts for such items.
- Coordinates line service response to aircraft emergency situations and may operate fire support vehicle as applicable; notifies proper authorities and acts as liaison between the FAA and other affected agencies and individuals as needed.
- Maintains liaison with based aircraft; resolves customer complaints and disputes as required.
- Coordinates tie down and parking locations for special events; works with event organizers for various aircraft displays.
- Explains and enforces all airport and County policies and procedures to visiting customers.
- Prepares a variety of written records, correspondence, reports, and procedures.
- Monitors developments and conducts studies related to the work of the unit; recommends improved policies and procedures and implements after adoption.
- Ensures the safety of the fueling and servicing equipment at the field; makes regular safety inspections and reports the need for maintenance or repair.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- Uses standard office equipment in the course of the work.
- Drives a variety of motor vehicles to reach aircraft and perform related duties.
- Performs all fueling, service, tie down, and customer service activities of a line service representative worker on a daily rotation basis.
- Performs any and all other duties as directed by Supervisors or Managers.
Requirements
- Equivalent to graduation from high school.
- Three (3) years of full-time aircraft ground servicing and fueling experience.
- Must remain current in an FAA approved Line Service training program and complete all CCDOA training as required.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of hire.
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination and a pre-employment drug examination.
- Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Employment is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and the ability to be granted and maintain a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
- Prospective hires must present two original government-issued IDs upon acceptance of job offer.
Qualifications
Some college-level education in business or a field related to the work and prior lead or supervisory experience is desirable.
Working Conditions
- Work with exposure to high noise and potentially hazardous fuels, lubricants, and other materials.
- Mobility to work in a typical shop, field, and office setting, including operating typical fueling and servicing equipment; use standard office equipment, and drive a motor vehicle and fire support vehicle.
- Stamina to stand, walk, climb, and drive a motor vehicle.
- Strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with proper equipment.
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
