About the role
The Senior Leisure Sales Manager will lead the sales efforts for the new Fairmont New Orleans hotel, focusing on business travel, consortia, wholesale, and entertainment segments. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role involves securing business, developing client relationships, negotiating rates, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Sells hotel guestrooms through direct client contact with assigned market segments to meet or exceed annual revenues and profit goals.
- Establishes a client base within assigned market segments through direct outside and inside sales activities.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key clients to secure transient business.
- Negotiates guest room rates and hotel services within approved guidelines.
- Confirms all requirements via sales contracts and conducts property site inspection tours.
- Accurately forecasts personal bookings and cancellations against budgeted revenue.
- Determines and recommends prospective customers based on market information and resources.
- Prepares and executes action plans to solicit transient business.
- Quotes and negotiates prices independently, confirming by written contracts.
- Participates in trade shows, client events, conventions, and promotional events as directed.
- Responds promptly to client requests and follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintains a professional image through appearance and dress.
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of four years of sales experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven ability to build relationships and find new business: prospecting, networking, site inspections, and sales calls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends and shares information with all staff.
- Excellent organizational skills, prioritizing tasks and juggling multiple responsibilities.
- Superior problem-solving and strategizing skills.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft applications, with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proactive mindset to anticipate and support changes in the business.
- Conforms to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
