Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a Technical Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Embed compliance into product development by advising on new platform features and documentation
• Govern AI initiatives by formulating legal frameworks for AI/ML features and compliance with the EU AI Act
• Manage risk by reviewing and negotiating complex infrastructure and vendor contracts
• Integrate data privacy requirements into cloud architecture in collaboration with security teams
• Accelerate go-to-market strategies by maintaining customer-facing legal documents and acting as a trusted advisor in negotiations

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD, LLB, or equivalent) with active legal qualification in practice area
• 5-10+ years of experience in SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or developer-facing platforms
• Strong technical understanding of cloud applications, including APIs and containerization
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating a variety of legal contracts and agreements
• Proficient in spoken and written English and French
• Proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 annually
