Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor - Physiotherapy

Position Summary

This position may be appointed as either Education Focused (EF) or Teaching & Research (T&R), depending on the successful candidate’s profile and experience.

Key Skills Required

• Education Focused (EF) Stream:
  • At Level C: A PhD in Physiotherapy or other related health / medical disciplines. Registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist in Australia. Proven commitment to proactive maintenance of discipline knowledge and development. Clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with the ability to contribute to complementary areas within the School of Health Sciences. Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, including the application, translation, and/or teaching of research evidence in clinical or educational contexts. Experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery of courses (subjects) and programs (degrees), at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • At Level D: Significant experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Evidence of professional development in teaching and a strong track record of teaching excellence. Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement. Demonstrated track record in research (may be in scholarship of learning and teaching) with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
• Teaching & Research (T&R) Stream:
  • At Level C: A PhD in Physiotherapy or other related health / medical disciplines. Registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist (or eligibility and willingness to seek registration). Clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with the ability to contribute to complementary areas within the School of Health Sciences. Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, including the application, translation and/or teaching of research evidence in clinical or educational contexts. Significant track record in research leadership with outcomes of high quality and high international impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence and deliver research leadership. Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches and technologies, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Excellent record of recruiting and supervising high calibre HDR students.
  • At Level D: Extensive experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry. Significant track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
