Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor - Physiotherapy

About the role

This position may be appointed as either Education Focused (EF) or Teaching & Research (T&R), depending on the successful candidate’s profile and experience.

Responsibilities

• Play a central role in delivering high-quality, innovative teaching and enhancing the student experience within the physiotherapy program.
• Support evidence-based teaching, foster an inclusive and engaging learning culture, and contribute to curriculum innovation, accreditation activities, and engagement with the profession.
• Provide leadership in teaching excellence, curriculum development, and mentoring within UNSW’s Education Focused community.
• Contribute to advancing disciplinary knowledge, securing research funding, supervising higher degree research candidates, and building collaborative research partnerships.
• Lead in research, mentoring of staff and students, and driving innovation across teaching, research and clinical translation, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative academic environment.

Requirements

• Education Focused (EF) Stream: PhD in Physiotherapy or other related health / medical disciplines, registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist in Australia, proven commitment to proactive maintenance of discipline knowledge and development, clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, commitment to evidence-based practice, experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Teaching & Research (T&R) Stream: PhD in Physiotherapy or other related health / medical disciplines, registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist (or eligibility and willingness to seek registration), clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, commitment to evidence-based practice, significant track record in research leadership, experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches and technologies, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, excellent record of recruiting and supervising high calibre HDR students.

Pay

$155K- $200K (based on experience) + 17% super+ annual leave loading
