Senior Leave and Benefits Analyst

Position Highlights

The Leave and Benefits Analyst is responsible for the administration and compliance of leave of absence programs, ADA accommodations, and Workers' Compensation claims, while also supporting key benefits administration functions. This position serves as a subject matter expert in leave management, accommodations and workers’ compensation and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations are met while providing a high level of service to team members, leaders, and HR partners.

Position Responsibilities

  • Administer all leave of absence programs (including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Military, Personal, STD/LTD, etc.) and manage the full lifecycle of leave cases including intake, tracking, communication, calculating and coordinating leave pay, benefits eligibility, as well as return-to-work coordination
  • Oversee the ADA accommodation process and collaborate with leaders and HR partners to engage in the interactive process with team members
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, tracking, and resolution; coordinate with insurance carriers, brokers, and others to ensure proper handling and positive experience for team members
  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local employment laws as they relate to areas of responsibility, including leaves of absence and workers’ compensation; Ensure new laws or changes are communicated to appropriate parties and all policies, procedures, documents, and communications are compliant and up to date.
  • Aid in administering team member benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) and wellness; Serve as first point of contact for benefit related questions or issues
  • Support bi-weekly payroll auditing processes, verifying benefit and 401(k) deductions, and ensuring accurate pay administration for team members on leave of absence
  • Aid in preparing and analyzing reports and information and presenting to leaders and others as needed
  • Document appropriate process via Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure SOPs are updated on a regular basis as things change
  • Support cross-functional HR initiatives and participate in projects and process improvement

Position Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience performing leaves of absence administration, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation. Other generalist or benefits experience highly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a related discipline such as Business or Human Resources
  • Benefits or HR certification highly desired
  • Past experience with reputable HRIS, benefits, payroll and/or leave administration systems highly desired
  • A deep understanding of multi-state leave of absence laws, the interactive ADA process, workers compensation claims administration and return to work best practices, including employment laws impacting such
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and non-verbal/interpersonal
  • A bias for action coupled with strong analytical skills, working effectively and efficiently towards goals in complex or diverse environments
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously, work within established/rigid timelines, changing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, and maintain poise and discretion, as well as exercise good judgment and integrity in day-to-day decisions
  • Able to successfully build strong relationships based on trust and respect - partnering and communicating effectively with a wide variety of audiences, explaining complex information clearly and compassionately, as appropriate
  • Able to build and work within high-performing teams, collaborate with others, and resolve interpersonal conflict with minimum distraction
  • Able to manage resources effectively, including internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency at using the Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Word and Excel
  • Physical Requirements: May be sedentary for extended periods, 4 or more hours per day Visual acuity for detailed computer work Auditory ability for frequent calls/meetings with vendors and internal teams Using fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision such as typing

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is between $83,300 - $115,300 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.

Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual performance-based cash bonus. Bonuses are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s applicable incentive plan document.
