Senior Lead Software Engineer, Fullstack (Python, Typescript, React, AWS)

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer in Risk Tech you’ll drive a major transformation into a real-time, intelligent discipline powered by modern products and technical capabilities. Risk Tech is organized into two pillars: Risk Management Tech (RMT) builds frameworks and tools for monitoring risks, testing controls, and managing regulatory requirements; AML and Compliance Tech (ACT) ensures products are delivered ethically and in strict compliance with BSA/AML regulations and global laws. Architecture & Engineering Excellence teams bridge business strategy and technical execution while empowering engineers to build better, more resilient systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions that meet regulatory needs for the company
- Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, mentor other engineers, and occasionally code or evaluate code
- Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for millions of Americans
Technologies you will use
- Languages: JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go
- Databases: Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases
- Container orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
- Cloud: A variety of AWS tools and services
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
- At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree
- 9+ years of experience in at least one of: Python, TypeScript, React
- 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
- 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks
- 1+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of experience with Agile practices
- Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity beyond basic code completion
Pay
- Cambridge, MA: $229,900 – $262,400
- McLean, VA: $229,900 – $262,400
- New York, NY: $250,800 – $286,200
- Richmond, VA: $209,000 – $238,500
This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
