As a Senior Lead Software Engineer in Risk Tech, you’ll drive a major transformation into a real-time, intelligent discipline powered by modern products and technical capabilities. Risk Tech’s mission spans two pillars: Risk Management Tech (RMT) develops frameworks and tools for monitoring risks, testing controls, and managing regulatory requirements; AML and Compliance Tech (ACT) ensures products are delivered ethically and in strict compliance with BSA/AML regulations and global laws. Architecture & Engineering Excellence teams bridge business strategy and technical execution while empowering engineers to build resilient systems that make Risk Tech a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions that meet regulatory needs.
Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, mentor other engineers, and occasionally code or evaluate code.
Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for millions of Americans.

Technologies and tools

Programming languages: JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go
Databases: Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases
Container orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes
Cloud services: A variety of AWS tools and services

Basic qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (internship experience does not apply)
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred qualifications

Master’s degree
9+ years of experience in at least one of: Python, TypeScript, React
4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
1+ years of people management experience
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity beyond basic code completion
