Senior Lead Skilled Maintenance

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanics assigned to the Greenville, IL Plant will perform the maintenance activities associated with the upkeep, repair/replacement of all manufacturing equipment and grounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Repairs and maintenance to physical structures using hand and power tools
• Repairs to drywall, wood, masonry and steel structures
• Repair and maintain plant structure and equipment
• Repairs on all piping, drains, air handling and HVAC equipment
• Mig, tig, stick and silver soldier welds
• Operate plasma and oxy. / act. torch cutting
• Make repairs to tools and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
• Perform housekeeping duties to assure that work areas are neat and clean
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures and regulations
• Participate and support the site’s safety and quality programs/policies
• Apply knowledge of electronic, electrical circuits
• Trace circuits, interpret wiring schematics
• Understand boiler water chemistry
• Able to use hand held test instruments to calibrate critical process instruments
• Work overtime when necessary to complete job duties

Education

• Minimum requirements: 2-year certification in an industrial maintenance field or 5 years' experience in industrial maintenance field – must pass qualification testing

Experience

• Good mechanical aptitude is required

• Must complete all tasks in a professional manner
• Must have good oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to attend training classes to acquire knowledge necessary to perform job duties
• Organizational Relationships/Scope: This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor

Physical/Visual Activities

• Approximately 100% of time will be spent in the production/maintenance environment
• The job involves sitting, walking, standing, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting objects up to 40 pounds
• The job involves clarity of vision at 20 inches or less with the ability to bring objects into sharp focus
• May need the ability to identify and distinguish colors
• Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time
• May have exposure to chemicals including acids, bases, organic solvents and inorganic compounds
• Chemicals may have characteristic odors or hazardous properties that require special handling
• May require wearing a respirator or dust mask
• Working Conditions: This position will spend approximately 100% of their time in a production environment handling material
