Senior Joiner
About Us
The Ridge was founded in 2012 to address local issues around lack of access to training and support in the Dunbar area. We have grown to become the go-to provider of local, effective, personalised, and holistic empowerment for local people, helping them overcome challenges and move beyond dependency towards contribution and fulfilment.
The charity operates a wholly-owned trading subsidiary social enterprise construction company, The Ridge Foundations CIC (TRF), which provides high-quality traditional skills training—primarily through stonemasonry and joinery apprenticeships and SQA-accredited courses—for youngsters not thriving in mainstream school settings. TRF also restores derelict properties in the Dunbar Conservation Area, owned and managed by The Ridge SCIO on behalf of the community, and undertakes external commercial contracts to expand trainee experience and generate income.
Across The Ridge, our focus is on enabling people to fulfill their potential, helping them tackle barriers and gain the skills to live life to the full.
