Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers, design and other project team members to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensure projects are executed efficiently and within established timelines and budgets.
- Translate conceptual designs into detailed construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and specifications.
- Aid in the development of design concepts as needed.
- Stay current with building codes and regulations and ensure project designs and documents adhere to all relevant codes and standards.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, including interns, drafters, and Job Captains.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Conduct regular reviews of project documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
- Implement best practices and quality control processes.
- Assist in the administration of construction contracts, including site visits, responding to RFI’s, and reviewing submittals.
- Utilize industry-standard software tools such as Revit, and other relevant design and project management software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in architecture, architectural technology, or proven experience as a draftsperson in an architectural firm or related industry.
- Architectural licensure preferred or in progress.
- 2-4 years of experience as a Job Captain or similar role.
- Proficiency in Revit, and other industry-standard software.
- Strong knowledge of architectural principles, building codes, and construction methods.
- Strong organizational and focus shifting abilities.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Maintain mathematical skills and reasoning and critical thinking abilities.
