Senior Java Developer (Media and Entertainment)

Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java 21, AWS, and Microservices to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on backend development role focused on building scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing enterprise applications using modern Java, Spring Boot, AWS cloud services, and CI/CD technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 21.
• Build and support Microservices using Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Work with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and EKS.
• Design and develop REST APIs.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and production deployments.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 21 (experience with Java 17 and Java 11 is also valuable).
• Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud.
• Experience with:
  • AWS Lambda
  • DynamoDB
  • S3
  • IAM
  • EKS
• Strong experience with REST API development.
• Experience with NoSQL and relational databases.
• Experience with CI/CD tools:
  • Kubernetes
  • Jenkins
  • GitHub
  • Spinnaker
• Familiarity with Scala.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
