About the role

Oxford Casino Hotel, located in Oxford, Maine, is part of Churchill Downs Incorporated. Since opening in 2012, the casino has grown significantly and now features over 20 table games, nearly 1,000 slot machines, and a sportsbook. It also includes 107 hotel rooms and two restaurants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain end-users security at the application level and in the OS as required.
  • Maintains all property-wide user-based computer applications, upgrades, security. This includes, but is not limited to, gaming, hotel, point of sale, etc.
  • Contacts vendor for help and more advanced upgrades.
  • Follows SOPs and updates SOP appropriately.
  • Provides end user desktop support and helps keep casino employees productive.
  • Employees in this position will have a strong understanding of SQL, SQL queries and scripting. This position requires in-depth backend knowledge of all casino applications.
  • Captures, deploys standardized workstation configurations and maintains PCs to current configuration levels.
  • The Senior Information Technology Technician possesses a basic understanding of System Administration responsibilities and can act as a backup to the Sys Admin position when required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.
  • Three to five years of work experience in information technology or related field.
  • Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The employee may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • The employee may be exposed to smoke when on the floor of the gaming room.
