Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

This position will assist in conducting risk assessments, developing the annual audit plan, planning and conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits, identifying control gaps, process inefficiencies, and evaluating financial statement accuracy. It involves using root cause analysis techniques to understand why control gaps occurred and working with management to create action plans to address these gaps or improve process efficiencies. The role also includes writing concise, well-written audit reports and verifying that action plans are complete. Additionally, the position will assist in training and providing oversight to staff auditors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting risk assessments to develop the annual audit plan
• Plan and conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits to identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, and evaluate financial statement accuracy
• Use root cause analysis techniques to understand why control gaps occurred and work with management to create action plans to address the control gaps or improve process efficiencies
• Write concise, well-written audit reports
• Work with management to verify that action plans are complete
• Assist in training and providing oversight to staff auditors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in audit (can be external or internal)
• Familiarity with internal controls frameworks for large organizations
• Prior experience auditing non-profit entities preferred
• Strong preference for candidates with CPA or CIA licenses/designations
• Minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role within the audit function

Salary Type: Annual Salary
Salary Min: $95,000
Salary Max: $110,000
Currency Type: USD
