Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will conduct comprehensive audits and assessments of internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. This role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audit engagements in accordance with established audit methodologies and standards.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
• Conduct audits in accordance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Prepare detailed audit reports that include findings, recommendations, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather information and facilitate the audit process.
• Assist in the development and implementation of audit plans and schedules.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior auditors and staff.
• Monitor and follow up on the status of corrective actions in response to audit findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit standards and practices.
• Familiarity with GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• CPA certification is preferred.
• CIA certification is a plus.
• Experience with complex audits and testing of controls is desirable.
