Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead interior design development from conceptual and schematic phases through construction documentation and administration.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to develop design direction aligned with client goals, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Provide design leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level interior designers.
  • Develop and present interior design concepts, including multiple design schemes for client review.
  • Cookinate interior design integration with architectural and engineering disciplines.
  • Oversee development of interior design documentation including drawings, specifications, and finish plans.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct space planning and design development including functional layouts, ergonomics, and code-compliant configurations.
  • Participate in and lead client meetings, presentations, and design discussions.
  • Oversee selection of materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment based on function, aesthetics, cost, and durability.
  • Ensure adherence to design intent, building standards, and applicable codes including ADA and life safety requirements.
  • Perform site visits and support construction administration activities including RFIs, shop drawings, and field observations.
  • Oversee project schedules, design deliverables, and coordination with consultants.
  • Support budgeting, cost control, and value engineering efforts across project phases.
  • Contribute to business development efforts including presentations and proposal support.
  • Maintain and organize design libraries, resources, and internal documentation systems.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional interior design experience required.
  • Experience in interior design leadership, project coordination, and team supervision required.
  • Professional certification such as NCIDQ preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required.
  • Strong understanding of space planning, building codes, and construction documentation required.
  • Experience in construction administration including RFIs, submittals, and site visits required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills required.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary design teams preferred.
