Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead interior design development from conceptual and schematic phases through construction documentation and administration.
- Collaborate with project leadership to develop design direction aligned with client goals, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Provide design leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level interior designers.
- Develop and present interior design concepts, including multiple design schemes for client review.
- Cookinate interior design integration with architectural and engineering disciplines.
- Oversee development of interior design documentation including drawings, specifications, and finish plans.
- Review and ensure accuracy of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct space planning and design development including functional layouts, ergonomics, and code-compliant configurations.
- Participate in and lead client meetings, presentations, and design discussions.
- Oversee selection of materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment based on function, aesthetics, cost, and durability.
- Ensure adherence to design intent, building standards, and applicable codes including ADA and life safety requirements.
- Perform site visits and support construction administration activities including RFIs, shop drawings, and field observations.
- Oversee project schedules, design deliverables, and coordination with consultants.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and value engineering efforts across project phases.
- Contribute to business development efforts including presentations and proposal support.
- Maintain and organize design libraries, resources, and internal documentation systems.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional interior design experience required.
- Experience in interior design leadership, project coordination, and team supervision required.
- Professional certification such as NCIDQ preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required.
- Strong understanding of space planning, building codes, and construction documentation required.
- Experience in construction administration including RFIs, submittals, and site visits required.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills required.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary design teams preferred.
