Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial client meetings to final walkthroughs, translating needs into designs.
- Collaborate on multiple projects concurrently, including programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Prepare accurate contract documents such as floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, millwork drawings, furniture layouts, finish plans, and schedules.
- Research manufacturers and assist in the selection of colors, finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting, with a focus on sustainable solutions.
- Create presentation materials, diagrams, and physical and mostly digital models for client presentations.
- Support project teams and studio initiatives, collaborating with consultants and partners as required.
- Mentor and supervise junior designers.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Exposure to sustainable design practices and materials.
- Experience working on small to mid-size commercial projects including education, hospitality, multi-family, healthcare and more.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field from CIDA accredited program.
- 8-10 years of professional experience (internship experience acceptable).
- Must have NCIDQ certification.
- Professional experience and proficient Senior design software (SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion. Enscape, Adobe Suite).
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation and detailing.
- Knowledge of FF&E, materials, and finish specifications.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
