Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate technology-enabled, course design projects focusing on talent gaps in the Canadian mining sector and other industrial sectors.
- Develop AODA-compliant courses and learning objectives in online formats compatible with the existing LMS.
- Align courses with appropriate educational technologies.
- Participate in the day-to-day running of Corporate Training instructional design projects.
- Act as the intake coordinator for instructional design-related requests for service.
- Coordinate details of large-scale instructional design projects.
- Provide guidance, coordination, and direction to members of the Corporate Training Instructional Design Team.
- Schedule work assignments and projects.
- Stay apprised of emergent trends within the fields of mining technology, online learning, mobile learning, and adult learning theory.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a three-year postsecondary diploma or degree.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with learning management systems and web-based authoring tools related to education and training.
- Experience applying the requirements of Ontario AODA legislation to the creation of educational materials.
- Experience creating course outlines, assessment strategies, and teaching college-level students.
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of copyright legislation.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated diplomacy and tact.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Commitment to working within a team environment.
Assets/Preferred
- Masters degree specializing in Instructional Design or Educational Technologies.
- Graduate Certificate (post baccalaureate) or diploma in Instructional Design.
- Formal training in adult learning theory, web, or multimedia development.
