Senior Inspectors

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform complex field inspections of construction work to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, codes, and applicable regulations.
• Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level inspectors; provide technical guidance and support.
• Monitor contractor activities and report progress, delays, and non-compliance issues.
• Review and interpret construction documents (plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, change orders).
• Maintain and audit daily reports, inspection logs, material test results, and photographic documentation.
• Cookordination with project engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve field issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental requirements, and quality control procedures.
• Participate in or lead pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and punch list walks.
• Validate pay quantities, evaluate contractor claims, and assist with final acceptance documentation.
• Conduct or oversee testing (e.g., concrete, soil, asphalt) and inspections (e.g., structural, civil, utility).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with VDOT, MDOT, DDOT, or WMATA construction projects preferred.
• Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge specifications and OSHA safety standards.
• 6+ years of progressive field inspection experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of civil/site/structural construction methods and materials.
• Proficient in interpreting plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to lead field teams and interface effectively with contractors and engineers.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
