Senior Inspector

About the role

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspectors in and around the Orlando, FL area. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K, you will strengthen our construction engineering and inspection business while leading complex and routine inspections on projects including highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of construction structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
• Maintain oversight of the activities of other Inspectors
• Communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
• Recordkeeping and reporting as required

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent with four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in roadway construction inspection
• Must have the following certifications as required by the scope of work for the project:
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level
• ICTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
• CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I and Level II
• CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I and Level II
• CTQP Drilled Shaft
• CTQP Final Estimates
• IDOT Intermediate MOT

Qualifications

• Preferred: Previous roadway asphalt inspection experience
• Preferred: Critical Structures Construction Issues certification
• Preferred: FDOT Self Study Computer Based Training (e.g. MSE Wall Inspector)

Physical Demands

• The ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites
• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• The ability to navigate uneven terrain
• The ability to climb ladders or stairs
• The ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards
