JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms. JMT is seeking a Senior Inspector to join their Kentucky Construction Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
  • Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials
  • Measures dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
  • Coincides and supervises project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards
  • Assigns, schedules and maintains subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project
  • Works on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues
  • Gathers and maintains record documents
  • Makes field notes and computations
  • Interacts with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • High school diploma or equivalent10+ years of Roadway Construction Inspection Experience

Qualifications

  • Client requested certifications: ACI Level I, Grade & Drain Level I, Structures Inspection, Aggregate Sampling Technician, KEPSCI-R Asphalt Field Technician
  • Preferred Experience: Associates or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (may be substituted for experience)
  • Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations
  • KYTC Policies and Procedures
  • AASHTO SiteManager/SiteManager Materials

Skills

  • Ability to act in an Owner’s Agent/Responsible in Charge role

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
