Senior Inspector

About the role

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspectors in the Tampa/Hillsborough County area.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of construction structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
• Maintain oversight of the activities of other Inspectors
• Communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
• Recordkeeping and reporting as required

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent with four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in roadway construction inspection
• Must have the following certifications as required by the scope of work for the project: CTQP Concrete Field Inspector, CTQP Asphalt Roadway, CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection, CTQP Drilled Shaft, FDOT Intermediate MOT

Qualifications

• Preferred skills and experience include previous roadway asphalt inspection experience, Critical Structures Construction Issues certification, FDOT Self Study Computer Based Training (e.g. MSE Wall Inspector)

Skills

• Physical demands require the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites, stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, climb ladders or stairs, lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation
