Responsibilities
- Familiarity with Department’s Procedures
- Proficient in computer programs for project duties
- Exercising independent judgment in planning and decision-making
- Field surveying, construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations
- Inspecting construction work and conducting field tests
- Cooking and managing lower-level inspectors
- Performing work under the supervision of Project Administrator
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Fleet drivers must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Completion of pre-employment screening
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- One year of CEI/MEI experience with roadway or bridge structures or four years of CEI/MEI experience in roadway or bridge construction

- FDOT Advanced MOTCTQP Concrete Field Technician Level
- ICTQP Asphalt Roadway Level
- ICTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- ICTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level
- ICTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTCI Level II (all bridges)
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- Grouting Technician Level ICTQP
- Post-Tensioning Technician Level ICTQP
- Final Estimates Level IFNGLA
- FNGLA Florida Certified Landscape Technician
- Possess current licensure from Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs in herbicide, right of way, and aquatics
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Moderate physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders
- Occasional lifting up to 80 pounds
- Navigate construction sites skillfully and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures
- Ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, and recognize sound, tone, and pitch
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, and capacity to sit for extended periods
- Capable of working in varied environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy settings, and be able to stand and walk during site visits
- May include night work and weekend work depending on project scope
Hours of Operation
- ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Unpaid hour for lunch daily
- Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule
