Senior Inspector

Essential Functions

• Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations
• Assist the Project Administrator in daily roadway inspection
• Ensure contractor compliance alongside quality control
• Perform inspections and testing as required
• Testing and inspections include but are not limited to earthwork, asphalt, concrete, bridge structures, lighting, pavement markings, signing and signalization, and other roadway safety components
• Provides general management, supervision and instruction for the CEI Inspectors
• Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator

Required Skills And Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in roadway construction inspection
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level ICTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I and Level IICTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I and Level IICTQP Pile Driving InspectionCTQP Drilled Shaft InspectionCTQP Final Estimates I

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Previous FDOT roadway and/or bridge construction inspection experience
• Critical Structures Construction Issues certification
• Fdot Self Study Computer Based Training course completion
• Supervised two or more inspectors and directly responsible for all inspection requirements related to the construction operations assigned

Physical Demands

• The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
