About the Opportunity
The Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer role is critical for maintaining the stability, compliance, and performance of Unix, AIX, and Linux systems that underpin the Epic database environment for the Pacific Northwest instance. This position holds single-point operational ownership for these systems, designs and manages enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure seamless and secure system integration.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Service Line Owner for UNIX/AIX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, ensuring database stability and operational efficiency
- Design, engineer, and manage enterprise infrastructure and cloud-based platforms including IaaS and PaaS
- Maintain databases and system platforms with performance analysis, workload security, and scalability enhancements
- Collaborate with technology stakeholders to define system roadmaps and resolve cross-system dependencies
- Utilize enterprise-approved AI tools to automate system administration and improve operations
- Assess emerging technologies to influence standards and recommend modernization or retirement of legacy platforms
- Provide expert guidance and troubleshooting support to engineering teams on complex infrastructure and OS issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent technology experience
- 5+ years of experience with UNIX, AIX, and Linux (RHEL) system administration, engineering, and support
- 3+ years with server virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Google Cloud VMware Engine
- 3+ years experience with enterprise identity, access, and security technologies (e.g., Active Directory, Entra ID, MFA, PKI)
- 2+ years experience with enterprise IT service management and monitoring tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Tanium, SCCM)
Pay Range and Compensation Package
The salary for this role ranges from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment.
