Senior Industrial Hygienist

About the Role

Senior-level industrial hygiene professional responsible for leading complex projects requiring innovative investigation techniques. Supervise the analysis and formation of recommendations in written reports. Assist in establishing and updating current policies and procedures for technical projects in your field of expertise to ensure proper interpretation and implementation by subordinate staff. Provide technical direction and training to less experienced professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Investigate sites to identify any physical or environmental risks.
• Perform field studies including airborne chemical monitoring, noise monitoring, indoor air quality, asbestos surveys, and Phase I preliminary site assessments.
• Develop sampling strategies and outline required analysis.
• Research regulatory standards and hazard data.
• Evaluate sampling results.
• Prepare risk assessment reports and develop recommendations to correct and improve the environment.
• Present and communicate findings and report recommendations to clients.
• Develop understanding and awareness of project-related risk; be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the company.
• Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure the team follows safety rules and guidelines.
• Create and model a safe work environment; demonstrate safety practices.
• Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
• Monitor and promote quality standards and practices; ensure continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
• Ensure consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
• Participate in the development of marketing strategies and presentations of qualifications to clients on projects.
• Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related science field.
• Minimum 8-11 years’ experience.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
• Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.

Preferred Certification: Authorized Project Reviewer status.
