About the role

Do you enjoy detailing the intricate workings of a process? Obsessing over how transactions, dependencies, and communication work together to build a system? We are looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to map Packing processes and material flows—all adjacent data, inputs/outputs, and system dependencies. You will drive industrial engineering topics related to process changes, new products, and new technologies, including determining process impacts, updating product work descriptions and routings, and collecting and maintaining equipment.

The NPI and Engineering department bridges Development and Packing Production to ensure successful introduction and sustainment of new technologies, products, and processes. You will lead the development and ownership of product flow and matching equipment, create process flow maps, and maintain relationships between systems and data. The goal is to support simulations and digital twins to understand system behavior, predict constraints, and lead system changes. You will also develop and lead the introduction of new products to the site packing area.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement projects for process and support area initiatives.
  • Feed process setups into the process engineering team for a collaborative approach to introductions.
  • Create procedures, visual aids, and improve standards and structure for documentation.
  • Own the management of change for engineering, including deviations, trials, and permanent changes.
  • Create and update reports and metrics related to new product (novelty) performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and across sites, including with the R&D department to craft new industrial engineering processes.
  • Develop production process standards, descriptions, and routings, and optimize these processes.
  • Apply theory of constraints and knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, automation, and electrical systems to machine design.
  • Use simulation and digital twin software to model system behavior and predict constraints.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as an Industrial Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience with validated execution.
  • Strong fundamental problem-solving skills with a proven record of root-cause detection.
  • ISO9001 knowledge.
  • Process improvement experience with structured data analysis, root-cause analysis, and DOE’s.
  • Experience optimizing workspace layouts for work standards, ergonomics, and time balancing.
  • Experience mapping process flows and/or value stream maps.
  • Intermediate understanding of machine automation control systems and robotics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Minitab, and BI Software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Packing and Packaging equipment (e.g., box forming, closing, counting machines, sorting machines, and bagging equipment).
  • Hands-on experience with simulation and/or digital twin software.
  • Experience working in the Toy industry.

Skills

  • Ability to travel globally.

Pay

The salary for this position ranges from $93,989.00 to $140,983.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group considers prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law when determining compensation.

Benefits

  • Family Care Leave: Enhanced paid leave options for important life moments.
  • Insurances: Life and disability insurance coverage for all colleagues.
  • Wellbeing: Access to the Headspace App and local wellbeing initiatives.
  • Colleague Discount: Generous discount on LEGO products from day one.
  • Bonus: Eligibility for performance-based bonus rewards.
