About the role

Join our Public Sector Pre-Sales team! We work with large-scale government, such as the Department of War, and regulated industries to make the internet fast and secure. As a partner, we collaborate with customers and prospects to align Akamai solutions to business needs. We build relationships and insights to maximize product value through the full scope of our global platform.

As a Senior II Solutions Engineer, you will work with all the technologies Akamai has to offer. By partnering with engineering and business teams you will become the technical expert our customers rely on. Through building relationships with organizations, you will deliver innovative solutions that will impact millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Create sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
• Manage the technical proposal process and ensure all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
• Track account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers' needs.
• Lead sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

Requirements

• 12 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• US citizenship as well as the ability to obtain and retain a US government clearance.
• Experience working in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales, or post-sales role.
• Background and experience in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies, or cloud computing solutions.
• Comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL protocols, and Cloud Computing.
• Customer advocate passionate about delivering technical solutions.
• Experience presenting technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Team player able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast-changing environment.

Pay

For US-based candidates only: the base salary for this position ranges from $139,300 to $250,700/year. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities.
