Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical expert for chiller systems, central plant operations, and complex commercial HVAC infrastructure across a portfolio of hospitality properties.
- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of air-cooled, water-cooled, centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers.
- Support HVAC infrastructure across properties ranging from legacy systems to newly developed facilities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, refrigeration, controls, and mechanical issues impacting guest rooms, public spaces, food and beverage venues, meeting spaces, and back-of-house operations.
- Support and optimize Building Automation Systems (BAS), control networks, VFDs, sensors, and associated equipment.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, repair records, equipment histories, and technical recommendations.
- Partner with contractors, manufacturers, and service providers to ensure quality service and timely resolution of technical issues.
- Support property renovations, capital improvement projects, equipment replacements, and infrastructure modernization efforts.
- Respond to critical HVAC failures and operational emergencies to minimize guest and business disruption.
- Provide flexible support by performing other duties that contribute to team and organizational success.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressively responsible commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with chilled water systems and multiple chiller manufacturers, including Daikin, Trane, Carrier, York, Johnson Controls, McQuay, or similar platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of cooling towers, pumps, HVAC controls, refrigeration systems, and mechanical room operations.
- Experience supporting multi-building campuses, hospitality environments, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, or similar complex operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical systems, refrigeration circuits, BAS platforms, PLCs, VFDs, and electronic controls.
- Experience supporting facilities with varying infrastructure ages and equipment technologies.
- EPA Refrigerant Certification preferred.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- Experience training, mentoring, or providing technical leadership to maintenance teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
