Senior HVAC Service Technician

About the role

The Service Technician reports directly to the Service Manager and is responsible for performing a wide range of HVACR installation, service, maintenance, and repair tasks for both residential and commercial customers. This role requires strong technical skills, professionalism, and the ability to deliver high-quality service that reflects the company’s values of honesty, reliability, and customer care.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and installing a wide range of HVACR equipment, including air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, natural gas generators, fireplaces, tankless water heaters, and heat pumps.
• Performing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) services and installing related components and add-on systems.
• Working on rooftop units (experience preferred but not required).
• Identifying and generating lead referrals for the sales team.
• Completing other related tasks as assigned by the Service Manager.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of HVACR experience in service and/or installation.
• Strong verbal, reading, and communication skills; able to follow manufacturer instructions and interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and coworkers.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to work in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Physically capable of performing all duties in varying conditions, including extreme Buffalo weather.
• Commitment to ongoing learning through self-study, company training, and manufacturer workshops.
• Valid New York State driver’s license (must be able to operate company vehicles within 30 days) and insurability under TRS’s policy.
• Ability to work efficiently under time pressure, changing schedules, weather challenges, customer needs, and workload fluctuations.
