Position Summary

At Enviromatic Systems, we provide building automation, HVAC, and energy management solutions for commercial customers. We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our team. The Senior HVAC Technician will service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment. This role requires strong HVAC troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently. The technician will participate in the on-call rotation and must be able to diagnose and service commercial chillers and boilers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Service, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and identify needed repairs.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and airflow issues.
  • Service rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, heat pumps, compressors, chillers, boilers, and hydronic systems.
  • Use HVAC and chiller diagnostic software, such as Trane TechView, for troubleshooting and component replacement.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documents.
  • Troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
  • Recover refrigerant, replace components, and confirm proper system operation after repairs.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to service calls, including chiller and boiler issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior technicians as needed.
  • Complete service documentation and communicate repair recommendations to customers.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle.
  • Follow OSHA, EPA, company safety policies, and applicable codes.
  • Stay current on HVAC equipment and manufacturer training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or Trade Certificate in HVAC/R Technology preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years of commercial HVAC service and repair experience preferred.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification preferred.
  • NATE Certification, HVAC/Mechanical Contractor License, and OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Safety Card preferred.

Required On-Call Capability

Must be able to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and repair commercial chillers and boilers as part of the company's on-call rotation.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, heat pumps, compressors, chillers, boilers, and BAS controls.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and HVAC troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use standard HVAC tools and chiller diagnostic software, including programs such as Trane TechView.
  • Strong communication, customer service, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Work from ladders, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and in confined spaces.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
