Job Description

Joining Russell Investments' Human Resources team means joining a collaborative and high-performing function that plays a critical role in enabling business success through people. As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, helping align talent and organizational strategies with business priorities while fostering an engaging and inclusive employee experience. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders across Global Information Technology and other business functions to deliver people solutions that drive organizational effectiveness, strengthen leadership capability, and support business transformation. You will provide guidance across the employee lifecycle while partnering with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated talent, compensation, recruiting, and development strategies. This position offers the opportunity to build strong global relationships, influence business outcomes, and contribute to enterprise-wide people initiatives within a dynamic and fast-paced organization.

Success in this role requires strong business acumen, a proactive and consultative approach, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategic priorities with operational execution.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnership
    • Build trusted relationships with leaders and managers to understand business priorities and provide proactive people solutions.
    • Partner with leaders to identify organizational challenges, workforce risks, talent gaps, and opportunities to improve team effectiveness.
    • Leverage data, insights, and business knowledge to support workforce planning and organizational decision-making.
    • Support leaders through organizational change initiatives, helping drive adoption, engagement, and business readiness.
  • Talent Management & Organizational Effectiveness
    • Partner with leaders and HR Centers of Excellence to execute talent management processes, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and compensation planning.
    • Support workforce planning activities by identifying current and future talent needs and partnering on development and retention strategies.
    • Coach managers on performance management, employee development, leadership effectiveness, and team engagement.
    • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to define hiring requirements, support selection decisions, and ensure an effective candidate experience.
  • Employee Experience & Relations
    • Serve as a trusted resource on employee relations matters, providing guidance that balances business needs, risk mitigation, and employee experience.
    • Promote a culture of inclusion, accountability, and high performance aligned with Russell Investments’ values.
    • Analyze employee feedback, turnover trends, and organizational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and retention.
    • Support onboarding, transitions, and offboarding activities to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • HR Programs, Operations & Compliance
    • Drive effective implementation and adoption of enterprise HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
    • Utilize Workday and HR analytics to maintain data integrity, generate insights, and support informed decision-making.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve manager experiences, and enhance operational effectiveness.
    • Participate in cross-functional HR projects and enterprise initiatives as required.

Expertise

  • 4-6 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience supporting leaders and managers in a business-facing HR role.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR practices, employment law, employee relations, talent management, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect people strategies to business outcomes.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, workforce planning, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to inform recommendations.
  • Excellent coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience supporting performance management, compensation, recruiting, and talent development processes.
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS platforms and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
