Responsibilities
- Serves as a business partner to operations and sales management to enhance the Western Division's capability to achieve its goals and objectives for Northern/Central California, covering up to 10 locations.
- Works with managers to improve their effectiveness through various techniques and strategies.
- Participates in the Division's leadership team and leads change as needed.
- Partners with regional leadership and plant managers to prevent and solve employee relations issues.
- Assists with new acquisitions and growth initiatives, focusing on human resources and organizational issues.
- Supports hiring managers during the interview process, providing objective HR-driven feedback and coaching managers on interview best practices.
- Identifies and develops strategies to increase employee satisfaction throughout the Division.
- Supports managers in developing succession plans and improving the talent pool within the Division.
- Manages collective bargaining agreement administration, including contract interpretation, grievance processing, and dispute resolution.
- Conducts regular labor relations training for management and supervisors.
- Serves as a point of contact for union representatives and fosters professional and collaborative labor-management relationships.
- Supports labor contract negotiations through data gathering, proposal preparation, and participation in bargaining sessions.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced degree is advantageous.
- SPHR or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Human Resources or Organization Development career track.
- Two plus years of experience in labor contract negotiations and contract administration/grievance handling.
- Experience in an industrial environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of heavy industrial business is advantageous.
- General knowledge of EEO, FLSA, OFCCP laws and regulations.
- Understanding of employment laws, rules, and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of employee relations.
- Unquestioned personal and professional integrity.
- Able to establish credibility and influence leadership.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact well with all levels of personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant software packages.
- Assertiveness, consensus building, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Diagnose organizational and employee issues impacting performance and organizational effectiveness.
- Develop communication programs to get employee commitment and support for company goals and objectives.
- Dispute resolution abilities.
- Solid presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and interface with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Understanding of individual and group reward and recognition strategies to motivate people towards higher productivity.
- Bilingual preference.
Qualifications
Estimated travel requirement is 75 to 80% with mostly day travel and limited overnight stays. A successful candidate will be a team-oriented individual with a “humble but hungry” approach, demonstrating a strong ability to adapt to constant change.

Pay
The base salary range for this role is between $90,000 to $110,000 annually. This range is not inclusive of discretionary bonuses or equity packages. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
